Kuwait's defence ministry spokesman called Wednesday's attack “criminal Iranian aggression”, while the foreign ministry said diplomatic missions had been damaged.
Later on Wednesday, Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) denied responsibility for the airport strike, claiming the damage was caused by an error from a US missile interceptor.
US Central Command (Centcom) said this was false and claimed Iran struck the airport in a “deliberate, calculated and unjustified attack”.
The IRGC had earlier said it targeted US bases in the Gulf in retaliation for US strikes on an Iranian oil tanker and Qeshm Island.
The US said it had launched “self-defence” ..

Trump administration live updates: Acting AG Todd Blanche grilled on president’s ‘unconscionable’ $1.8B ‘slush fund’

Trump says U.S. left Iran's military 'alone'Key officials from Donald Trump’s administration will face a series of congressional hearings Tuesday as they plead for funding while facing a firestorm of criticism over the president’s agenda.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin and Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche are all testifying in budget hearings amid heightened scrutiny over the war in Iran and the administration’s mass deportation campaign.
Blanche is also expected to face questions about the president’s much-maligned $1.8 billion compensation fund for his political allies and how the Department of Justice is handling investigations into Jeffrey Epstein.
Last week, former Attorney General Pam Bondi told lawmakers during a close-door deposition that she delegated oversight of the so-called Epstein files to her now-former deputy, who is also the president’s former criminal defense attorney.

Trump may have dropped his ‘slush fund’ but not the agreement for tax amnesty: report

President Donald Trump may have shelved plans for his $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization” fund — part of a broader settlement resolving his unprecedented $10 billion lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service — but one controversial element remains intact, according to a new report.
Last week, a federal judge in the capital temporarily blocked the Trump administration from “taking any further action pursuant to the creation or operation of the Anti-Weaponization Fund,” designed to pay out victims of alleged government wrongdoing.
On Monday, the Department of Justice said it would comply with the court order and halt the creation of the $1.8 billion taxpayer-funded cache, which critics have derided as a no-strings-attached “slush fund” for Trump’s allies.
However, a separate provision in the settlement is poised to proceed: one granting Trump and his family broad tax amnesty, The Daily Beast reported.
A representative for the president’s legal team told the outlet that an agreement barr..

Trump’s AI order seeks security safeguards without slowing race with China

US President Donald Trump signed a long-awaited executive order on artificial intelligence (AI) on Tuesday, which asked technology companies to voluntarily share advanced models before they are released, signalling a shift in the administration’s largely laissez-faire approach to the industry.
The voluntary framework allows the government to vet powerful new AI systems up to 30 days before their public release, but stops short of mandating review regulations, which were reportedly considered.

‘They’ll fix the building, but not our souls’: Sleepy Kyiv neighbourhood hit in Russian strike

'They'll fix the building, but not our souls': Sleepy Kyiv neighbourhood hit in Russian strike2 hours agoShareSaveAdd as preferred on GoogleVitaly ShevchenkoKyivBBCUkrainians knew a huge strike was coming. Since Russia threatened to step up attacks on the capital, Kyiv, about a week ago, many spent nights in underground shelters.
We were two floors underground, and yet we could feel and hear the massive explosions above. Then came the Russian drones, possibly carrying more explosives or scouting out the damage done by the missiles. Then more missiles.
More than 41,000 people – including almost 4,500 children – sheltered underground in the Kyiv metro overnight, a record number in recent years, the metro company said.
Even though Moscow had said its attacks would get much worse, this one was not much different from what Kyiv had seen already, many times. Yet again, Russia said it would strike military targets, but civilians suffered.
As they emerged from shelters after the..
