President Donald Trump may have shelved plans for his $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization” fund — part of a broader settlement resolving his unprecedented $10 billion lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service — but one controversial element remains intact, according to a new report.
Last week, a federal judge in the capital temporarily blocked the Trump administration from “taking any further action pursuant to the creation or operation of the Anti-Weaponization Fund,” designed to pay out victims of alleged government wrongdoing.

A 25-year-old man has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing a woman to death on an Atlanta commuter train in an apparently random attack.
John Elijah Matthews was arrested around noon Saturday, moments after he stepped off the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority train at the Oakland City Station.
First responders tried to resuscitate Margaret Swan, 66, but she died at the scene, MARTA Police Chief Scott Kreher said.
Matthews waived a bond hearing set for Monday morning, and a defense attorney named in his court documents did not immediately respond to an email requesting comment. Matthews has not yet had the opportunity to enter a plea.
Kreher said video from the train depicted an unprovoked and chilling attack on an apparent stranger, and that Swan was stabbed up to 20 times.

Erik Pierwsza, 48, has been charged with three counts of recklessly endangering another person, one count of disorderly conduct, and one count of causing a catastrophe, according to USA TODAY.
Pierwsza allegedly used an excavator to smash portions of his home in Buffalo Township while his wife and two daughters were inside, according to the Buffalo Township Police Department.

On Saturday afternoon, police departments in Massachusetts began receiving calls of a loud boom coming from the sky.
The source of the sound was likely a meteor or a bolide, which is a meteor that explodes in the Earth's atmosphere, according to NBC 10 meteorologist Pamela Gardner.

Three climbers have died after falling near a perilous pass on Alaska’s Mount McKinley, North America’s tallest peak.
A fourth climber who fell is in critical condition after being evacuated from the mountain, Latvian Mountaineering Association said in a statement.
The climbers fell Wednesday as they traversed a route notorious for its exposed sections, where numerous injuries and fatalities have been recorded.
The National Park Service confirmed the climbers were part of a Latvian expedition and fell near Denali Pass, situated approximately 18,200 feet (5,550 meters) above sea level.
Mount McKinley itself stands at about 20,310 feet (6,190 meters). Their bodies have not yet been recovered, as Denali National Park and Preserve rangers awaited clearer weather conditions before attempting to reach the site.
