Trump announces EU trade deal that sees 15% flat tariff for products coming to US

Donald Trump announced a trade agreement with the European Union Sunday that will cut tariff rates down to 15 percent on imports from the trade bloc, while US exports will be tariff-free.
The president spoke alongside European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen at his Turnberry golf course in Scotland as he announced the news.
“All of the countries will be opened up to trade with the United States at zero tariff [for U.S. exports],” Trump told reporters, shaking Von der Leyen’s hand.
“We are agreeing that the tariff straight across for automobiles and everything else, will be a straight across tariff of 15 percent. So we have a tariff of 15 percent; we have the opening up of all of the European countries, which I think I could say [those markets] were essentially closed,” said the president. He also touted a number of impending EU investments, including a purchase of military materials.
Von der Leyen confirmed: “It is 15 percent tariffs across the board.”

DNA evidence links Colorado woman’s murder to one of state’s most ‘prolific serial killers’ 40 years later

For nearly four decades, the murder of 30-year-old Rhonda Marie Fisher in the foothills outside Denver went unsolved.
A passing motorist had discovered Fisher's body on April 1, 1987, at the bottom of an embankment in rural Douglas County, south of the Colorado capital. Yet despite suspects, the killer was never found.
Now Douglas County police say they have identified the culprit as “one of Colorado's most prolific serial killers”, based on 38-year-old DNA evidence from the inside of a paper bag.
The county sheriff's office announced Wednesday that cold case investigators had found a match with convicted murderer Vincent Darrell Groves, who is believed responsible for at least 12 homicides and possibly more than 20.
Groves targeted numerous women between 1978 and 1988, both before and after a five-year sentence for second-degree murder. He was finally put away for good in 1990, only to die of liver failure in prison in 1996.

Virginia Giuffre’s family celebrates after Prince Andrew drops royal titles over alleged Epstein ties

The family of Prince Andrew's late sexual abuse accuser, Virginia Giuffre, is celebrating the royal relinquishing his remaining titles amid continued fallout over his ties to the late sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein.
“This is not just a victory for her, but for every single survivor of the horrific crimes perpetrated by [Jeffrey] Epstein and his co-conspirators”, family members told The New York Post in a statement.
The family has called for Andrew, who has denied all wrongdoing, including Giuffre’s allegations, to lose his title of prince next.
Earlier Friday, in a statement released by Buckingham Palace, Andrew said a decision had been reached in discussion with the King to relinquish his remaining titles, including the Duke of York, as “the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the royal family”.
Giuffre, who died by suicide earlier this year, was one of the first people to publicly call for charges against Epstein and has been an outspoken adv..
